Day 2: Omkareshwar – Preparing for the Sacred Narmada Parikrama

Today, we dive deeper into the spiritual essence of the Narmada Parikrama. The day begins with a special briefing by an experienced Narmada Parikramavasi, who will guide you through the significance of the parikrama, the dos and don'ts, and provide essential information to ensure your journey is both comfortable and spiritually enriching.

Before taking the Sankalp (sacred vow) to complete the Narmada Parikrama, you will be taken to the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga for darshan and abhishek, followed by visits to other sacred sites like Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga, Sukhdev Muni Ashram, Shree Gajanan Maharaj Temple, and Shankara Charya Cave.

The Sankalp will be taken at the Gomukh Ghat, officially marking the start of your Narmada Parikrama. With the blessings of the Narmada, we will proceed to Badwani, visiting the village of Raverkhedi along the way, where the great Maratha leader Sri Bajirao Peshwa spent his last days.

Day 3: Badwani to Prakasha – Discovering the Spiritual Essence of Narmada Parikrama

The morning of your Narmada Parikrama begins with a serene pooja at Rajghat, connecting you further with the sacred waters of the Maa Narmada River. As we proceed towards Prakasha, known as Dakshin Kashi, the spiritual atmosphere deepens. Prakasha holds immense religious significance, and you will have the opportunity to visit the revered Kedareshwar Temple and Pushpa Danteshwar Temple.

Day 4: Prakasha to Ankleshwar – Continuing the Sacred Journey

Today, your Narmada Parikrama continues as we journey from Prakasha to Ankleshwar. En route, we’ll stop at the Shoolpaneshwar Mahadev Temple in Rajpipla, a place where the divine energies of Lord Shiva are profoundly felt. You’ll also visit the Shree Swami Ramanand Sant Ashram in Guvar, a tranquil retreat that offers a moment of reflection and spiritual renewal.

After receiving these blessings, we proceed to Ankleshwar, where you will rest for the night, ready to continue your parikrama the next day.

Day 5: Ankleshwar to Bharuch – Crossing the Sacred Narmada River

Today, your Narmada Parikrama takes a significant turn as we cross the sacred Narmada River to reach the northern bank, known as Uttar Tat. Our journey begins in Ankleshwar, where we first visit the Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, located 5 km before Kathpor.

From there, we proceed to Vimaleshwar, where we will board a boat to cross the Narmada River to Mithi Talai on the Uttar Tat. The boat ride, which lasts around 4-5 hours, is a peaceful and contemplative experience, though please note that it is subject to weather conditions, and delays may occur. Patience is key, as the river dictates the timing of this sacred passage.

Upon reaching Mithi Talai, our vehicle will be ready to pick you up and transport you to Bharuch, where you will stay overnight, preparing for the next day's spiritual journey.

Day 6: Bharuch to Statue of Unity – A Day of Spiritual Exploration

As your Narmada Parikrama continues, today we journey towards the majestic Statue of Unity, visiting several spiritual landmarks along the way. Our first stop is Nareshwar, where you'll visit the Samadhi of Sri Rangavdut Maharaj.

Next, we visit Malsar, a site steeped in spiritual history. You'll also visit the Panchmukhi Hanuman, Angareshwar Mahadev, Sri Satyanarayan Temple, Kadambh Vruksha, Shinor, Soubhagya Sundari Mata Mandir, and Kuberbhandari Temple in Karnali. Finally, we reach Garudeshwar, where you can visit the Samadhi of Vasudevanand Saraswathi, Sri Dutta Mandir, and Garudeshwar Mahadev Mandir.

The day culminates at the iconic Sardar Sarovar Dam, built across the Narmada River, and the towering Statue of Unity, a symbol of strength and unity. Your day ends with an overnight stay near the Statue of Unity, close to the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

Day 7: Sardar Sarovar to Maheshwar – Embracing the Spirit of Narmada Parikrama

Today, your Narmada Parikrama continues as we journey from Sardar Sarovar to the historic town of Maheshwar. Along the way, we will visit the sacred Sri Dutta Dham and Sri Dutta Mandir at Jalkoti.

As the day unfolds, we arrive in Maheshwar, a town steeped in history and spirituality, where the echoes of the Maratha queen Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar still resonate.

Day 8: Exploring the Spiritual Heritage of Maheshwar and Mandleshwar

Today is dedicated to immersing yourself in the rich spiritual heritage of Maheshwar, a key stop on the Narmada Parikrama. We begin with visits to the Ahilyaeshwar Temple, Raj Rajeshwar Temple, and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, where you'll experience the divine aura that has drawn pilgrims for centuries. You’ll also witness the Kotilingarchan Vidhi, a unique spiritual ritual.

One of the highlights of the day is visiting Sahastradhara, where the Narmada River flows into a thousand springs, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle that leaves a lasting impression on every devotee.

Later, we proceed to Mandleshwar, where you will visit the sacred Sri Ram Temple, a site of deep devotion along the Narmada. As the day draws to a close, we continue our journey to Nemawar, a place of quiet reflection and spiritual significance.

Day 9: Nemawar to Bareli – Connecting with the Sacred Heart of Narmada Parikrama

The ninth day of your Narmada Parikrama begins with a sacred pooja at Nemawar Ghat, a spiritually significant location known as the Nabhisthan, or the midpoint of the holy Narmada from its source at Amarkantak to its meeting with the Bay of Bengal. This pivotal spot is believed to be the heart of the Narmada, making it a powerful place for devotion and reflection.

After the pooja, we visit the revered Sidhnath Shivling, a site where the divine energy of Lord Shiva is deeply felt. Our journey then continues towards Bareli, with a special stop at the famous Bandrabhan Ghat for a serene Narmada Darshan. The tranquil atmosphere at Bandrabhan Ghat offers a moment of peace and connection with the sacred river.

Day 10: Bareli to Jabalpur – Embracing the Divine on Narmada Parikrama

Today, your Narmada Parikrama takes you from Bareli to the vibrant city of Jabalpur. We begin with a visit to the Cheend Hanuman Dham Mandir, a temple revered for its powerful spiritual presence. Here, you can seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman before continuing on your sacred journey.
As we proceed to Jabalpur, the day culminates with the enchanting evening aarti at Gwarighat, a key site on the Narmada River. The aarti at Gwarighat is a mesmerizing experience, where the flickering lamps and devotional songs create an atmosphere of pure spiritual bliss.

Day 11: Jabalpur to Amarkantak – Journey to the Sacred Origin of Narmada

On the eleventh day of your Narmada Parikrama, we embark on a profound journey to Amarkantak, the sacred origin of Maa Narmada. As we travel, we will stop at the fascinating Ghughwa Fossil Park, a unique site where you can witness fossils of trees and dinosaurs dating back 6.5 crore years. This extraordinary glimpse into ancient history adds a unique dimension to your spiritual journey.

We will also visit Jogi Tikariya, a place imbued with spiritual significance, before continuing our journey to Amarkantak, where the holy Narmada begins her divine course. After reaching Amarkantak we will visit all the temples of Uttar tat before moving to Dakshin Tat.

Day 12: Exploring the Spiritual Treasures of Amarkantak and Kanha

Today is a day of deep spiritual exploration as we immerse ourselves in the sacred sites of Amarkantak, a key highlight of your Narmada Parikrama. We will visit all the key temples and ghat of Dakshin tat.

We will also explore the natural beauty and spiritual landmarks of Amarkantak, such as Kapildhara, where you’ll see the footprints of Kapil Muni, Akhand Dhuni, and the serene Dughadhara Waterfall. Other notable sites include the Jwaleshwar Mahadev Temple, the origin of the Shon river, and the sacred Narmada Mai ki bagia.

Your spiritual journey in Amarkantak also includes a visit to Kabir Chabutara, where Saint Kabir achieved salvation, and the Kabir Tree, adding to the profound spiritual energy of the day.

In the evening, we proceed to Kanha National Park, where you will spend the night, surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquility of the forest.

Your Narmada Parikrama continues today with an exhilarating Jeep Safari in Kanha National Park, one of India’s premier wildlife sanctuaries. As you traverse the lush forests, keep an eye out for the majestic Bengal tiger and other wildlife, immersing yourself in the natural beauty that surrounds the sacred Narmada River.

After the safari, we proceed to Bhedaghat (Dakshin Tat), where you’ll witness the awe-inspiring Dhuhhadhar Falls. This magnificent waterfall, where the Narmada plunges from a height of 98 feet, is a powerful reminder of the river’s grandeur and beauty. The roaring cascade and the serene marble rocks create a mesmerizing landscape that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.

On the fourteenth day of your Narmada Parikrama, we journey towards Narmadapuram (formerly Hoshangabad), making a spiritual stop at Barman Ghat, a well-known and revered ghat along the banks of Maa Narmada. Here, you can offer your prayers and soak in the peaceful ambiance of this sacred site.

Upon reaching Narmadapuram, we will visit several important spiritual landmarks, including Kharra Ghat, where you can connect with the serene flow of the Narmada, Sri Dutta Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Dattatreya, and Setani Ghat, most significant ghat of Narmadapuram that holds deep spiritual significance.

Day 15: Narmadapuram to Omkareshwar – The Culmination of Your Sacred Narmada Parikrama

Today marks the final leg of your Narmada Parikrama as we journey back to Omkareshwar, the sacred town where your pilgrimage began. Upon reaching Omkareshwar, you will partake in the final pooja and aarti, a deeply spiritual ceremony that signifies the completion of your Narmada Yatra.

This moment is not just the end of a physical journey but a culmination of the spiritual experiences, prayers, and connections you have made along the way.
